THE CHALLENGE
Fine Dining experience
Large US Retailer and Manufacturer set out to test new designs and sleep technologies that required bringing in a large pool of respondents to a dedicated research facility.
Utilizing our world-class facility, we coordinated the design and layout to resemble a mattress retail environment.
THE PROCESS
Given the importance of separating respondents from one another during Covid, we divided the project up into different spaces: the first onboard respondents, the second to determine how respondents react to new designs (no touching), the third for sensory testing (laying on the mattresses), and a fourth for a follow-up focus group to unpack the experiences for each respondent.
Our team led all facets of facility layout, design and logistics to allow respondents to autonomously experience the rooms and document their responses to the stimulus. The flow of the research and moving respondents from room to room (sanitizing and upholding Covid protocols) was critical to a successful execution and enabled the researchers to maximize data collection.
Our team’s experience in project management, the ability to transform our facilities to accommodate the respondents and the technology we employed, were critical factors in our success.
In summary, we had a 100% show rate, (during Covid) and the data collected was extremely powerful. Because our project managers also hosted the research sessions, we were able to manage the recruits, setting expectations and managing change throughout to accommodate a fluid process. Assuming the coordination of the daily logistics, freed up our client to spend more time with the respondents, resulting in a more powerful experience.
